Online Voting - the way of the future
Online voting is a subject that up until now has not been instituted into the Canadian Electoral system. That is going to change. In today's fast paced world with a younger generation that rely on computers so heavily in everyday life, we need to have online voting available. After questioning some young people about the recent election we just had in October 2008, I was not surprised to find that many of them did not vote. The reason they didn't vote is because it would have taken too much time to figure out where there polling station was. They just couldn't be bothered. In generations past, the polling station was the best and only option available for voting and it has served it's purpose, but in today's fast paced world, we are seeing that they are not very effective at all for getting people to vote. That is why it is the number 1 priority for the Canadian Alternative Members Party (CAMP) to have this instituted into Canadian Politics as one of the ways that people will be able to vote in future elections. With voter turnout being at an all time low of 58% in the last election, we have nothing to lose by instituting online voting.
